The Department of Export Promotion, along with the Thai Auto-Parts Manufacturers Association, has revealed the highlights of TAPA 2012 The event will showcase a range of eco-cars, auto parts industry seminars, automotive innovations and technology developed by Thais.

Mrs. Nuntawan Sakuntanaga, Director-General of the Department of International Trade Promotion, Agency of Commerce, said the Thailand Auto Parts & Accessories 2012, or TAPA 2012, is painstaking the largest auto parts trade honest in the region and is held every two years. Environmentally sustainable, Eco-forthcoming products and innovations will be introduced with the thought of keeping the world green and helping to reduce pollution and global warming, showcasing Thailands potential as the automotive parts industry leader and hub of the ASEAN region. The honest will be held during April 26-29, 2012, at Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Center (BITEC), Bangna, Bangkok, under the concept of ‘automotive innovations and technology for a sustainable environment, as well as saving energy. In addition to the 400 companies from Thailand and overseas showing vehicles, auto parts, spare parts and accessories, there will also be special activities and highlights at the honest.

This year’s highlight will be an Eco car exhibition, which will showcase a range of eco- cars focusing on energy saving innovations from the top 3 car companies: Toyota, Nissan and Isuzu. As reported by Mrs. Nuntawan, the Department of International Trade Promotion has collaborated with the Thailand Society of Automotive Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, to present Thai automotive innovations and technology, such as a student’s race car which won an choice from Auto Challenge.

Three seminars will be given for the purpose of conveying information about the Thai auto parts business: “Auto Parts Marketing Channels in CLMV Countries” on April 26, organized by the Office of Thailand Trade Representatives. This seminar will focus on making marketing opportunities in countries which are painstaking significant export markets, such as Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam. Second, “Direction of the Thai Auto Parts Industry through the Eyes of Japanese Investors” on April 27, organized by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). And third, “Knowledge in Green Technology on April 28, organized by the Society of Automotive Engineers – Thailand (TSAE), together with representatives from Toyota.
